Afternoon engagement session with Jen & Evan in Downtown Sioux Falls.

Wedding season is upon us! There's finally some green starting to show. I don't want to jinx it, I'm fully aware South Dakota is capable of producing May snowstorm, but I think we're in the clear. I had a lot of fun running around with Jen, Even and their puppy, Penny. Feeling great about the busy summer ahead.

R.I.P. to this old tree.

I drove down this dirt road the other day and I noticed something was missing. THE TREE! It was gone, chopped down to a stump. I'm really glad I got off my ass and went to take this picture a few months ago. It only strengthens my view that If I have a gut feeling and know a picture is there to be made, that I should act on it immediately because I probably won't get a second chance to capture it.

...in the middle of the desert outside of joshua tree, California.

When we were in Joshua Tree, CA, this old gentleman wearing a t-shirt that had an alien head and just the word "believe" written on it, saw that I had a camera and asked if I'd like to take a few pictures of the desert turtles that he'd rescued. We said sure, hopped in the back of his pick-up and drove to his house in the middle of nowhere. He had a whole compound devoted to the rescued turtles and told us stories about them all. The little guy was rescued from a group of birds that were pecking at him. His name was Batman and he only had 3 legs.
